  hi to the group!.

  i have a question about a quote that ray franz made, and i am quoting him, his quote is as follows: page 283 of "crisis of conscience" top of the page:.

  fred was saying - in his comments, he stated that some were questioning the society's position (set forth in a recent watchtower) that jesus christ is the mediator only for the "anointed" ones and not for the other millions of jehovah's witnesses.

  Hi to the Group!

  I have a question about a quote that Ray Franz made, and I am quoting him, his quote is as follows:  Page 283 of "Crisis of Conscience" top of the page:

  Fred was saying - In his comments, he stated that some were questioning the society's position (set forth in a recent Watchtower) that Jesus Christ is the mediator only for the "anointed" ones and not for the other millions of Jehovah's Witnesses.   And then Fred Franz said "They would merge everyone together and make Jesus Christ the mediator for every Tom, Dick, and Harry."  (end of quotes) I had read the book back when it first came out and remembered how stunned I was over this comment. My question is do they still believe this way? Because for everyone that prays, there asking themselves, Well if I'm praying why would I say "In Jesus name, Amen" if Jesus is not the mediator for the common man? It would be senseless. At one point a sister asked the brother, "not even in prayer is he our mediator?"  

  I plan to do letter and send to my brother who is a Presiding overseer some of this information to get his input and maybe plant some seeds to open his thinking. Is there another name they use instead of Presiding Overseer? so I can be one step up on him, it will help me.

  As far as I'm concerned, Jesus has always been the Mediator for me and for you, and all of mankind. If they could just be like the Bereans and examine the scriptures, they might learn something, maybe even new light to them. (1 Tim 2:5,6)

  If someone could help me with this, it be great! Thanks for any help you provide.

  Hi,

  My Parents and I are discussing a quote that was made many years ago. We know for a fact that it was made. I have exhausted all of my resources to find it, and so I come here to this fine group to ask you about this quote.

  The subject is about money. My Father who had been in the organization for a long time remembers a brother at the podium who said the following:

  "Brothers, the day we have to start asking for money, than we know Jehovah's holy spirit is no longer with us as an organization." (end of quote)

  The reason why I bring it up is because of the urgency in which the WTS needs these funds, and the trouble that they are seriously in. And with the WTS letter being read this week, mentioning the need for you to send your contributions, it makes it much more important. And of course they use scriptures to convince you of the importance of giving of all your heart. There are way too many lawsuits and legal affairs ranging from illegal dumping of ink - to - lawsuits on the blood issue.

  It is very important for me to find the info on this quote, because I will use this information to tell the rest of my siblings who are still in about this.

  I want to thank those ones that replied back to my question about whether the WTS had changed its rules about talking to DF or non-attenders. In answer, I am not disfellowshiped, just not associated.

  I don't want to single out anybody, you all had great replies, and you answered my question.

  Hi to All!

  My Brother after so many years decides to call me. I am totally surprised. I didn't know what to think.

  So I began to open up by saying "Hey ______, what a surprise! So good to hear from you, how have you been?" So he began to tell me how things have been. Then I ask him a pointed question, I am so curious, what's the occassion? why did you decide to call us?

  His reply was "well, I wanted to check up on you, I been thinking about you!" So we talked for another 10 minutes.

  My question to an elder is "Has there been any new information that allows him some leniency to communicate besides things pertaining to business? I do plan to call him back and try to have a pleasant brother to brother conversation. I certainly do love him. I can't imagine that with all the rapid changes undergoing the watchtower society, that maybe his heart is starting to feel an emptiness in his life now. He has had to see things going on, being that he is the Presiding overseer in the congregation. We have not given up praying for him and his family.

  Hi Everyone,

  I decided to stop over for a visit to see how everyone is doing. It seems that there are more people coming over to visit this site. So many new faces and people with so many stories to tell. My heart pains me as to the difficulty that people have had to endure for so many years. But you are not alone, me and my parents deal with it as well. The numbers of people that are walking away from this organization is staggering. My Folks and I have been out for over 25 years.

  I keep tabs on the organization to see what is taking place, and there is no progress, or zeal, or an energy to motivate the sheep, the sheep have been battered and beaten. Everything from the branches being closed, less publications being printed, consolidating of kingdom halls, to telling people they need to contribute demonstates what has been foretold for a long time, and that is that Jehovah's spirit is no longer with them. Many times in my posts I have stated my true feeling from the scripture where it says--

  "Here I am against the prophets of false dreams," is the utterance of Jehovah, "who relate them and cause my people to wander about because of their falsehoods and because of their boasting." "But I myself did not send them or command them. So they will by no means benefit this people," is the utterance of Jehovah.

  He will gather us back to him, because we belong to him. We do not belong to them, the organization. They have painted God to be very demanding and without compassion, and they will pay for that in the end for all the misery they have caused for hundreds of thousands of families in the rules they have made and for the separation of the family.

  So, all I can say is be patient, and yes, I hate that word "Patience". But it will work out, because you know, I'm still waiting for the other half of our family.

  In the meantime, as I always like to say "Happy Trails to You"!!

  a change the society is going to make on Thursday night meetings, can someone confirm this for me?

  my mother gets a call from a dear friend in the midwest.

  and this friend begins to tell my mom that her kids who attend congregations in california were told that there "thursday night meeting" or the "theocratic ministry school" is being somewhat cancelled, and that it will be considered "family night".

  this would start sometime in the next couple of months.. the reason for this change is to entice the younger generation, because there is a dramatic decrease in attendence at the meetings, and that this in some way would help them to have more interest.. what are your thoughts?
